BETOFROST M15

Group I antifreeze admixture for concrete with a slight plasticizing effect

The admixture is manufactured in dry powder form or as a liquid solution (35% concentration) in accordance with TU 191604636.004-2013

The admixture is intended for the production of heavy-weight concrete at ambient temperatures as low as -15°C during the construction of cast-in-place and precast-monolithic concrete and reinforced concrete structures at construction sites and precasting yards.

USE OF THE ADDITIVE
  • BETOFROST M15 admixture is used in the construction of cast-in-place concrete and reinforced concrete structures, in the manufacture of precast concrete and reinforced concrete products at production facilities and construction sites, and for the preparation of construction mortars within a temperature range of 0°C to -15°C.
  • BETOFROST M15 does not reduce the mixture's working time (pot life), does not alter the concrete's color, and does not cause surface efflorescence.
  • The admixture is chloride-free and suitable for use in reinforced and prestressed structures; it does not cause reinforcement or concrete corrosion.
  • BETOFROST M15 is added to the concrete mix during preparation to prevent freezing during transport and placement, and prior to the start of heat treatment or thermos-curing. When preparing concrete mixes during the winter season, the requirements of TKP 45-1.03-314-2018 (Section 7) must be followed.
  • It is recommended to use BETOFROST M15 at ambient temperatures ranging from 0°C to -15°C in combination with Group I plasticizers (Betoplast brand).

DOSING THE ADDITIVE
The recommended dosage of the Betofrost M15 admixture is 1.5–3.5% of the cement mass, calculated based on the admixture's dry matter content. The dosage depends on the forecast minimum ambient air temperature, the concrete mix composition, the water-cement ratio, and the curing and hardening conditions of the structures.
When using Betofrost M15, it is recommended to reduce the mixing water content by utilizing a Group I plasticizer.

—The admixture dosage is specified for a standard heavy-concrete mix with a cement content of 400 kg/m³ and a water-cement ratio of 0.4.

The additive is most effective when administered with water.

Occupational Safety and Health

In terms of its effect on the human body, the BETOFROST M15 additive is classified as a low-hazard substance (Hazard Class IV according to GOST 12.1.007-86).
When handling the product, it is necessary to observe health and safety requirements and use personal protective equipment to prevent direct contact with the skin and eyes.

Do not drink, eat, or smoke while working with the additive.

PACKAGING, TRANSPORTATION, STORAGE
  • The liquid additive is dispensed in bulk into the customer's clean plastic or metal containers of various capacities.
  • The dry additive is packaged in 25 kg bags.
  • The liquid additive is a non-flammable liquid.
  • The additive is transported by any mode of transport in accordance with cargo transportation regulations.
  • The additive is stored in enclosed spaces at temperatures down to -15°C in hermetically sealed containers.
  • Shelf life — 24 months from the date of manufacture.
  • The additive should be protected from direct sunlight, temperatures above 50°C, and freezing.
