BETOFROST P150

Group I comprehensive anti-freeze admixture, Group I plasticizer

The admixture is produced as a 40 % concentration solution in accordance with TU BY 191604636.001-2012.

The admixture is designed for the production of heavy-weight concrete at ambient temperatures as low as -15°C. It is intended for use in the construction of cast-in-place and precast-monolithic concrete and reinforced concrete structures at construction sites and precasting yards.
USE OF THE ADDITIVE
  • The admixture is added to the concrete mix during preparation to prevent freezing during transport and placement, and prior to the commencement of heat treatment or thermos-curing.
  • BETOFROST P150 is used in the construction of cast-in-place concrete and reinforced concrete structures, in the manufacture of precast concrete and reinforced concrete elements at production yards and construction sites, and for the preparation of construction mortars within a temperature range of 0°C to -15°C.
  • When preparing concrete mixes during the winter season, the requirements of Section 7 of TKP 45-1.03-314-2018 must be followed.
  • The admixture is recommended for use within a temperature range of 0°C to -15°C (based on minimum average daily temperatures), provided that proper concrete curing measures are implemented.
  • BETOFROST P150 does not reduce the mix's working time (pot life), does not alter the concrete's color, and does not cause surface efflorescence. The admixture is chloride-free and suitable for use in reinforced and prestressed structures; it does not cause corrosion of reinforcement or concrete.
DOSING THE ADDITIVE
The recommended dosage of the BETOFROST P150 admixture is 0.6–1.5% of the cement mass, calculated based on the dry matter content of the admixture. The dosage depends on the forecast minimum ambient air temperature.
The dosage of the admixture may vary depending on cement consumption, the water-cement ratio, and the concrete curing and hardening conditions.

*– The dosage is specified for an average heavy-weight concrete composition with a cement content of 400 kg/m3 and a water-cement ratio of 0.4.

The use of the Betofrost P150 admixture reduces the mixing water content by 10–20% relative to the initial value. When used as a Group I efficiency plasticizer, the minimum dosage of the admixture (based on the dry matter content relative to the mass of cement) must be 0.9%.

The additive is most effective when administered with water.

Occupational Safety and Health
In terms of its effect on the human body, the BETOFROST P150 additive is classified as a low-hazard substance (Hazard Class IV according to GOST 12.1.007-86).
When handling the product, it is necessary to observe health and safety requirements and use personal protective equipment to prevent direct contact with the skin and eyes.

Do not drink, eat, or smoke while working with the additive.

PACKAGING, TRANSPORTATION, STORAGE
  • The liquid additive is dispensed in bulk into the customer's clean plastic or metal containers of various capacities.
  • The additive is transported by any mode of transport in accordance with cargo transportation regulations.
  • The additive is stored in enclosed spaces at temperatures down to -15°C in hermetically sealed containers.
  • Shelf life — 24 months from the date of manufacture.
  • The additive should be protected from direct sunlight, temperatures above 50°C, and freezing.
  • The additive is a non-flammable liquid.
